What is an Amazon TIC for dietary supplements?
A TIC is a third-party Testing, Inspection and Certification organization that Amazon has approved to verify dietary supplement compliance. Sellers request verification through the Manage Your Compliance dashboard, and the TIC reviews manufacturing (cGMP) and, for higher-risk categories, product testing documentation.
Is Qalitex an Amazon-approved TIC?
No. Qalitex Laboratories is an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited testing laboratory in Irvine and San Diego, California. We run the laboratory testing and issue the Certificate of Analysis; an Amazon-approved TIC performs the verification step. Do I need approval to sell dietary supplements on Amazon?
Amazon requires dietary supplements to be made in facilities that follow FDA cGMP (21 CFR 111) and to be verified by a third-party TIC. Products in sexual enhancement, weight management, bodybuilding and sports nutrition, and joint health also need product testing. Supplement compliance now runs through an approved TIC rather than a seller upload. The TIC evaluates the Certificate of Analysis, including the lab’s accreditation and methods, so the quality of the lab behind your CoA still matters.
